Eco House

The house is positioned within a hill, with the hillside covering two facades, while the other two facades are freestanding. The hillside facades deliver higher insulation and preserve the desired temperature all year round, while the freestanding facades are filled with baled straw, a good insulator and an inexpensive natural material.

On the ground floor, there is a conservatory facing the south, collecting heat and helping with the overall heating of the house in winter. The problem of overexposure in the summer was solved by adding an area for trees and plants to provide shade. The conservatory is separated from the rest of the house by a stone fireplace that absorbs heat from the sunlight and spreads it throughout the entire house.

The green roof helps to restore the piece of land taken away by the building of the house, and the solar panel on the roof accumulates energy for water heating and other electrical household appliances.

The house is surrounded by a drainage system which collects rainwater and stores it in a tank. The collected water is used to fill a natural swimming pool at the back of the house and for other needs of the house.
