The project was done for a Politecnico di Milano competition and won 3rd place.
The aim of the competition was to create furniture for the university campus using only old pallets.

The concept came from the idea of making the process of meeting people and forming friendships at university easier, the way it was when we were younger, just by playing on the playground.

The furniture piece that was designed is multifunctional and made completely out of pallets. It can be used either as a table or a teeter-totter, but there is a catch, the only way it can be used is with more people involved (two to four).

The furniture can be placed indoors or outdoors and serve as a place to work, eat, or just have fun, playing the way we did as kids.

The project aims to create a tranquil, relaxing space, by bringing nature-inspired design elements indoors. 

Upon entering the space, a window on the right provides a view of the outdoor atrium pool, hinting at what is to come. Once in the bathroom, natural light floods the space as the large windows fold away and blend the bathroom with the outside atrium. An illusion of a unified space is further maintained using a green wall and sand floor, which spreads across both the bathroom and atrium areas. The indoor section of the sand floor is covered by additional wooden planks with large spacing, that give it the feel of the outdoors but still differentiate it from it.

To put emphasis on relaxation, the bathtub is placed in the centre of the space, as the element that everything revolves around, while the shower is in the corner, designed to be open towards the indoor-outdoor space. From the bathtub, a path of stones leads to the atrium pool, inviting the user to balance their weight carefully and embrace a sense of patience and calm as a gateway to tranquillity, or in this case, a relaxing pool of water.

Curved elements are used throughout the design to present the repeating cycle that occurs in nature.
