The design was inspired by the basic concept of a shelter, a primary home settled in nature and easily movable to a different location - just as nomads used to do. The Shelter project is composed of a tent kit that one person can carry and assemble to create a temporary shelter for two people.

While exploring different possible designs, it became clear that the best option was to be as least intrusive to nature as possible, which is why rope is used to connect the tent to the ground and trees, making it float in the air.

The tent is primarily intended for hot climates, which is why the general problem of airflow within the tent is addressed. Individual material panels, that are twisted and loose on the sides, make up the tent and provide breathability, but also a snug closure. The material used for the panels is PTFE and the frame of the tent is from cedar wood. Both materials are waterproof, insect resistant and lightweight.
